Winlog Evo vs Winlog Pro

Winlog SCADA software is available in the base version Winlog Pro and in the advanced version Winlog Evo, more suited for Industry 4.0 applications.

Winlog Pro Licenses

Winlog Pro licenses are delivered in the form of a USB key inside a case. USB keys can also be delivered without a license to be remotely converted into any %s license later on. A %s license can also be remotely upgraded to a higher TAG count.

Licenses differ by functionality and number of TAGs. When it comes to functionality, there are three kinds of licenses:

• Development & Runtime licenses: enables both development and execution of local and web applications

• Web Runtime licenses: enables execution of local and web applications, but not development or modification

• Runtime licenses: enables execution of local applications, but not development or modification

Unlike local applications, web applications support the “Smart App” format (but not the “Web App” format). The “Smart App” is designed for smartphone use and provides browser-based access with a limited set of features.

All development licenses, regardless of TAG count, include the same features and graphical libraries for industrial automation with thousands of static symbols (pumps, valves, motors, tanks, PLCs, piping, ISA symbols), digital animated objects (buttons, switches, LEDs), numeric objects (indicators, potentiometers), and complex animated objects (motors, pumps, valves, tanks, piping).

Winlog Evo Licenses

Winlog Evo licenses are delivered in the form of a USB key inside a case. USB keys can also be delivered without a license to be remotely converted into any %s license later on. A %s license can also be remotely upgraded to a higher TAG count.

Winlog Evo Without a License

The free (DEMO) version of the Winlog Evo development environment can be used to develop and run SCADA applications without limits on TAG usage (sampled variables). These applications can be tested for up to two consecutive hours, after which communication with external devices is interrupted, and the application has to be restarted. To function without time restrictions, an application needs to be validated with a development license and then run with a runtime license.

Winlog Evo Development License

A development license is required to validate applications developed with Winlog Evo SCADA software. Only a validated application can be run with its runtime license. The development license also gives access to the graphic library Industrial Gadgets ActiveX, with thousands of static SVG icons such as pumps, valves, motors, tanks, PLCs, piping, ISA symbols, and a library of animated objects, both digital (buttons, switches, leds) and analog (pointer indicators, potentiometers, led displays) objects, as well as complex ones (motors, pumps, valves, tanks, pipes).

Winlog Evo Runtime Licenses

Runtime licenses can be used to run Winlog Evo applications, provided they have been validated with a W-EVO/DVX-USB development license; runtime licenses also allow application editing (Editor function). Different runtime licenses are available, distinguished exclusively by TAG number (sampled variables). A single TAG can represent a Boolean value (1 bit), a number up to 32 bits, or a string.

• W-EVO/RTA-USB: Runtime license up to 32 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTB-USB: Runtime license up to 64 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTC-USB: Runtime license up to 128 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTD-USB: Runtime license up to 256 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTE-USB: Runtime license up to 512 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTF-USB: Runtime license up to 1024 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTG-USB: Runtime license up to 2048 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTX-USB: Runtime license with unlimited TAGs

ScaPc Licenses

ScaPc licenses are Winlog Evo runtime licenses offered in a bundle with a PClog industrial PC.

The PC can be chosen among all PClog PCs.

The ScaPc license can be chosen among the following:

• W-EVO/RTA-USB: Runtime license up to 32 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTB-USB: Runtime license up to 64 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTC-USB: Runtime license up to 128 TAGs

• W-EVO/RTD-USB: Runtime license up to 256 TAGs

If more TAGs are needed, an upgrade to a higher tier license can be requested at any time after the purchase
